Dear Church Family,

It is incredible that it has been eight months since the Lord brought us together to serve at First Baptist! So many things have happened and we really feel like we are getting to know each other. Pam & I believe that we see Him working and guiding us to a greater Kingdom Impact in the coming months and years! I want to keep you informed about what has been happening and what plans and opportunities are coming soon.

Judson University Choir will lead us in worship on Sunday, November 6. This will be a spectacular day of worship so all of us really do need to Invite, Invite Invite!

Update on our 24/7 Youth Ministry
We have started the 24/7 Youth Group this fall. We have had a high attendance of 7 youth and a total of 12 that have come so far. We are excited about what the Lord is going to do amongst the Middle School and High School students. Our Youth leaders are Pastor Chris & Pam Chambers, Sierra Broadhacker, and Joan Nickey.

We have also restarted Youth Sunday School as I have started teaching it until we find someone to help or take over that class.

Update on Children’s Ministry
My wife Pam is now teaching Children’s Sunday School.  FBC Kids (Children’s Church) is going to restart on Sunday, November 20.   Marcia Juriga and Joan Moreau are going to be our teachers for FBC Kids.  The children will be excused from the worship service before the sermon (Approximately 9:55-10:00). We are excited to have a place for families to come worship for both them and their children. We will be looking for some volunteers to help once or twice a month so please let us know if you can help.

We have had a strong response to blessing and serving our community during our “Love Does” series and outreach.   About 6-7 people prepared a meal for the women and children at the Careage House which is part of God’s Shelter of Love. It usually has a lot of homeless single moms with children there. The goal is to help them get to a self-sustaining life.

On Sunday, October 23 we had a group of seven go to serve a meal at the Good Samaritan Inn.

Potluck Nov. 6th at 12:00 following Sunday School and the Judson University Choir Worship Service.

Potluck Nov.13th following Sunday School, then we will have fun packing Operation Christmas Child boxes and stuffing stockings for Fair Havens Nursing Home.

Sign up in the Gathering hall or email Tina decaturfbc@comcast.net

Volunteer Opportunities
Nov. 1st  9:30-11:30 a.m. – Baby Bottle Cleaning for New Life Pregnancy Center’s largest fundraiser.

Nov. 13 – Pack Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child and stuff stockings for Fair Havens Nursing Homes (Christmas in July).

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel of Jesus!
Keep praying, serving, inviting, and loving God with our heart, mind, soul, and strength as well as loving others as we would like to be loved!
